Talking to the Dead

Have you ever wondered why it was ok for Jesus to talk to the dead and raise them up, but it was not ok for a woman in 1 Samuel 28? I have been told all my life that we don't talk to dead people. When someone dies we are not suppose to go around talking to them or try to bring them back into our life. Today's society considers this witchcraft, cultism, etc., and that as Christians this is an absolute forbidden area. Now walk with me…….

We know that the devil doesn't create truth, he can only imitate what is truth. Those that involve themselves in talking to the dead are imitating some sort of truth manifesting a counterfeit. So what is the truth of talking to the dead? Why was it ok for Jesus to talk to the dead and raise them? Are we not suppose to walk after the pattern He set for us?

We need to consider what scripture refers to as the dead. We consider the dead as those people whose bodies have ceased to have functioning ability. We don't consider the spirit or soul dead, but we base the death of an individual determined by their body. Biblically, the scriptures declare that death is not determined by the body, but by the spirit of being separated from God. So then, who are the dead we are not to be talking to?

We are not to talk to the past that does not line up with the Word. It is the dead man in each of us we are not to keep raising up. We are new creatures in Christ. When we share things of our past of how we use to be, thinking it makes a good testimony for the Lord, we are actually raising the old Adam and making room for the devil. Scripture tells us to make no place for him.

King Saul went to seek the raising of Samuel from the dead for his own peace. He wanted what used to be when Samuel was on the earth in his body. Saul had lost relationship with God and was trying to gain it back through Samuel. Saul was raising the dead of the past, the old way. Jesus raised the dead bringing life into that which was already dead. He brought forth new creatures in Christ.

We need to change our mind in the way we consider who is really dead. If death is separation from God, and those that have left their bodies are present with the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:8), we could consider that they are alive in Christ. If we are alive in Christ and they are alive in Christ who is dead and what is death?

Jesus came to do away with the 1st Adam. He is the 2nd Adam, and he finished the job. We received all of Him that is obtainable. What separates us from "seeing" those that have gone before us is our imagination. We imagine what they are doing in "heaven" with Jesus somewhere out there. Yet, we are with Jesus in heaven here on earth now for the kingdom of God is righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

We have the element of time in our midst that causes hindrance to pulling the veil of imagination away. They are in eternity waiting for the Sons of God to pull the veil back. We have the ability with our minds that "the thought can be the fact". They are in Christ Jesus; we are in Christ Jesus. They are working with Jesus without the limitations of time and space to encourage and petition with intercession the mercy seat of God and the fullness within of love, life, and light to be manifested to us. They are the cloud of witnesses that surround us.

In 1 Corinthians 15:53-55 we read, "For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is they sting? O grave, where is thy victory?"

Those that have gone before us are in the inner court of the tabernacle of the Lord. They are in the Holy of Holies where there is no time, and no judgment. Everything is resolved with the fullness of Christ Jesus manifesting unconditional love, mercy, and forgiveness.

In the Old Testament only the Levitical priesthood had the ability to represent God to the people with the unconditional love, mercy, and forgiveness of God. Over 2000 years ago Jesus gave us that ability in John 20. It is up to us to put on immortality and incorruption by the manifestation of our true identity as Sons of God. We now have the ability to bring eternity into time to do away with time. We must first do away with the hindrance of our imagination and give thought to the fact that God is Light, Life, and Love. When we step into that realm we reflect to others their heavenly Father. We no longer live, but Christ lives in us and through us. We become the manifestation of His glory. Our purpose during the times and seasons that are allotted to each of us is not for us to get through a life span of "survival of the fittest". It is to show others that when they see us they see the Father.
